Composer Dylan McKeand
Dylan McKeand is a 24-year-old Durham-based musician and the composer for Swine. He took piano lessons as a kid growing up in Pickerington, Ohio, but his true love for music blossomed when he discovered electronic and ambient music as a teenager. Some of his favorite artists are Stars of the Lid, Aphex Twin, and J Dilla.
While his brother, Henry, is more interested in film and narrative, the two brothers have always bonded over art. Some of their best memories as kids revolve around playing together and talking about Metacritic scores for various movies and video games (they now realize this was maybe a strange obsession for young children). Recently, Dylan has become more interested in film scores, and he particularly loves Walter Schumann's work on Night of the Hunter. When Henry asked him to work on Swine, he was excited if a little unsure. He had never worked on a film score before, but he ended up enjoying the experience, and he's interested in doing more for his brother and other filmmakers. He plans to continue making music and immersing himself in art as he works as a landscaper.
