About the film
Happiness Is A Luxury was written and directed by Charisse Bradley. Jim did all the cinematography and lighting. Turnip was not involved in post-production.
Shot on the Sony EX1 in late 2009 and the first half of 2010.
Intimate scenes required a full soft lighting, plus sensitivity in the cast and crew.
I found this location for Charisse, to create a subdued but intimate moment with natural light.
A key night scene, primarily lit with nearby ambient and two large softboxes to retain shadow detail.
